- We concluded the Dave Ramsey financial series Sunday at Connection Church. I hope everyone got as much out of it as I did. I’ve been on the “Ramsey Plan” for about 10 yrs and I still learned a lot. Couple of my personal take aways:
I’m not as broke as I think I am. I can always sell something or cut something out. This past weekend I put over 50 books on Amazon and we’re gonna sell our gas guzlin’ Suburban.
I can put money in savings no matter how broke I am. It just requires an intense discipline.
My small group has been a blast. Love hangin’ out with you guys!
It’s not about having to tithe. It’s about getting to give. There’s nothing that can top the feeling you get when you help someone in need. Reminder: Bring a couple of bags of non-perishable food items with you to church on Sunday. We’re helping out 10 families during the holidays. Without us they will have nothing.
God doesn’t need my money.
To be Christlike I must be a giver. That’s a non-negotiable.
I’m not the owner, God is. I’m the manager and I need to be a good manager of His money. Psalm 24:1
- Laura and I had a blast at the Crowder concert. Thanks Connection Church. Check out my view compared to Laura’s.
- Laura’s having surgery on Tuesday. She’ll be in the hospital overnight. Then a couple of days of recovery. Doc says it will take 2-3 weeks before she can get back in the starting line up :) Please keep her in your prayers…and pray that I don’t bring the family to a screeching halt trying to fill her shoes.
- I’m pretty pumped about the new series that starts this Sunday at Connection Church. Pisteuo (pronounced pis-tyoo-oh) is the Greek word for “I believe.” This has been the most intense sermon prep I have experienced since we started Connection. At one point it was so rough I thought about dropping the entire series. The devil ain’t happy cause we’re getting ready to expose him for who he really is. Don’t miss this series and bring a friend with you. This Sunday we are talking about sin and salvation. Question: Does God get angry about sin? Post your comment and let me know your thoughts.
