By now you have seen the devastation in Haiti. I have sat at my computer in stunned silence as I watched videos and listened to the stories. But, it’s not the devastation that has overwhelmed me. What has overwhelmed me is the outpouring of compassion for the people of Haiti. I can’t think of a single church that isn’t doing something. God’s people are stepping up and stepping into the gap.
I’ve been reading about Winston Churchill lately. During WWII he said, “Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that men will still say, ‘This was their finest hour.’ ” This could be the churches finest hour.
