Acts 28 Day Reading Challenge: Day 27

Read
Acts 27 (Key verse, Acts 27:24)

Reflect
What kind of storms are you facing in your life?
How can you overcome these storms?

Respond
Chapter 27 is one of the best in the Bible at describing life.

When the time came, we set sail for (insert hopes and dreams).

We encountered strong headwinds that made it difficult to keep the (insert hopes and dreams) on course. We had several days of slow sailing, and after great difficulty we finally neared (insert hopes and dreams). We had lost a lot of time.

When a light wind began blowing from the south, we thought we could make it. But the weather changed abruptly, and a wind of typhoon strength burst across the (insert hopes and dreams) and blew us out to sea. We couldn’t turn the (insert hopes and dreams) into the wind, so we gave up and let it run before the gale.

As gale-force winds continued to batter the (insert hopes and dreams), we began throwing the cargo overboard. The storm raged for many days, blotting out the sun and the stars, until at last all hope was gone.

An angel of God said, ‘Don’t be afraid, for you will surely (insert hopes and dreams)! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’

Last Sunday I talked about the storms of life. You can listen to that message here.
