God has done great things in our first year at Core Church.  However, I believe He is getting ready to do even GREATER THINGS in the year to come. I wanted to share with you three commitments I believe God is calling us to make in the coming year.

1. PRAYER
   We must be known as a people and church of prayer. Prayer must be the foundation upon which we build. Prayer must permeate every gathering and ministry within our church. On Monday, September 16, we will kick off Thirteen Days of Prayer and Fasting. We are asking everyone to fast a meal, a day, a week or all thirteen days. During the fast we will be praying for our upcoming anniversary service and our friends and family who are far from God.
2. CORE KIDS & CORE YOUTH
   I love the excitement and ministry that’s taking place in our kids and youth ministry. We have great leaders and volunteers who are committed to seeing our children and young people come to know Jesus. In the coming year we will have a renewed focus on our children and teenagers and their families. Get ready because this is going to be awesome.
3. COMPASSIONATE MINISTRIES CENTER
   This is a dream God placed in my heart several years ago. I believe now is the time to act. In the coming year we will begin to investigate the possibility of launching a compassionate ministries center in an impoverished area of our city.

This Sunday we will come together to make our commitment for the Greater Things Campaign. I want to ask you to prayerfully consider what God would have you give, above your regular tithes and offerings, over the next year. Not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice. Your generosity will help make this vision a reality.
